AOS

continues our 8th season
ActOne Series Volume XIII

The AOS was developed to provide a venue and a voice to writers. Once the pieces are selected, playwrights will have the opportunity to work with a dramaturg to hone their script before it goes into production, and to observe the rehearsal process.

The process culminates in two evenings of performances, when the writers get the opportunity to see their works come to life, local actors show their stuff on stage and the San Antonio community gets the opportunity to celebrate the work of their neighbors, friends and promising new theatre voices.

The ActOne Series (“AOS”) was developed to provide a venue and a voice to writers. Focusing mainly on local San Antonio writers, TRG produces excerpts from several unpublished pieces. Many writers who we’ve worked with have had their plays produced all over the nation and most recently, in New York. Through two evenings of performances, the writers get the opportunity to see their works come to life, local actors get to show their stuff on stage and the San Antonio community gets the opportunity to celebrate the work of their neighbors and friends. The AOS atmosphere is very casual with musical interludes used to segue in between the plays, most of which are only 10-15 minutes in length. Afterwards, the audience can hang around and participate in a Q&A session with the writers. All in all it makes for a pretty “hip” night at the theatre.

Thank you for your interest and support!
